2004 Carmes de Rieussec Sauternes
The nose brings some sweet, rose petal water and gasoline. Whaa? Say what? Ok. Immediately I'm intrigued. This could be good. I like intriguing noses. But. One taste, one HALF a taste, and it’s all over. Dear god. Somewhere, someone found a way to make a liquid substance SWEETER than pure sugar. Geeez. This is sugar water yet, somehow, incredibly, insanely, more sweet then sugar syrup. It defies the laws of physics and defies anything and everything good about wine. Pass.
